Event Host

Cfreedom, born Christine Brown in Mobile, Alabama, is an international writer, poet, hip-hop artist, producer and photographer. Raised in New Orleans, Louisiana since she was an infant, Hurricane Katrina has showed her that there is no place like home. Cfreedom began doing hip-hop shortly after living in Georgia after evacuating from her hometown, New Orleans, in August 2005. She met some gentlemen from St. Lucia, who produced music beats and in turn, Cfreedom began recording some of her poetry to their beats. With this combination of hip-hop and poetry, she then called it her new genre, Hip-Hopetry.
Cfreedom chose the name Cfreedom shortly after her return to New Orleans when she left Georgia in November 2006. After experiencing injustice with the New Orleans Police Department on a ride to a recording studio with Lock Down Records, she decided that Cfreedom is what she desires to see and share. She became even more aware than she has ever been, with the power of words and speaking things into existence. In January 2010, Cfreedom was blessed to visit St. Lucia Caribbean Island to perform in two poetry shows. In a trip of only 4 full days, she received so much love during her visit and continued to feel that love more and more every day after. Not only was her hip-hop songs played in some of her new St. Lucia fans' shows after her return home, but she was also highlighted in St. Lucia's Mirror Newspaper for an outstanding performance in one of the shows, called Tongue & Groove.
