THEOLA BRIGHT
THEOLA BRIGHT is a native of Mobile, Alabama. She was an academic student at
Blount high school, a business student at Ann York Business school in New York
City, a pre-law student at Miami-Dade Junior college, a Liberal Arts major at
Florida International University, and a television production student at Lindsey
Hopkins Technical school in Miami, Florida.
Theola contributes to our local Black History as being the owner of the first Braid shop in Mobile, African Village, and she represents the country of Senegal, Africa in the Mobile International Festival with an annual show of her original African fashion designs. She is also a motivational speaker and author of three books of poetry, producer of three CD's, and vocalist for many local events including Bayfest, MOJO Jazz Society, Gulf Coast Ethnic and Heritage Jazz Festival, Mobile Jewish Film Festival, and she was recently selected as a future tour guide for Mobile's African-Heritage Trail. Theola Bright, a former Artist-In-Residence for the State of Alabama who specializes in Educational Entertainment, is Mobile's true "Renaissance Woman " in every sense of the word . She has experience in more that 40 different, professional, careers.
