CALL FOR POETRY

The Gulf Coast Ethnic & Heritage Jazz Festival proudly presents an Evening of Poetry on Thursday, August 5, 2010 at 6:30 p.m. at the Museum of Mobile located at 111 South Royal Street, Mobile, Alabama to bring together a wide range of people and poems into one memorable evening. You are invited to submit a copy of a poem that you have written.
Entry Guidelines:
Entries must be typed in a font no smaller than 12 pt. Times New Roman (or equivalent) and submitted on 8 ½ x 11 pages, with margins no less than 1 inch around.
Entries must identify the person submitting the poem.
Entries must be mailed to GCEH must have a self-addressed stamped envelope for notification of selection status. Entries will not be returned.
Selection:
The host will select 10 - 15 pieces to be read the evening o fAugust 5. Poems should take no more than 5 minutes to read or recite.
A panel of judges will select the winning poem which will be read at the Evening of Poetry.
The winning poem will receive recognition
Deadlines & Fees:
There is a $5.00 entry fee, but entries must be received by July 14, 2011.
Only one entry per person may be submitted.
