Stephanie Jordan is a premier Jazz vocalist. She made her debut at the Takoma Station in Takoma Park, Maryland on February 15, 1991. At the urging of her sister, she climbed on stage and joined the Doug Carne Band in an unrehearsed rendition of "I Remember April." She was signed on the spot to appear there every weekend for a year. Within a few months she developed a loyal following. Ms. Jordan is sought after and has appeared at many of the Washintgon D. jazz haunts such as The Twins Jazz Lounge, Trumpets, Blues Alley, Carter Baron Amphitheater, and The Ritz Nightclub. She appeared at the opening of the Schonberg Center of the Langston Hughes Theater in New York City, performed at the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival, and the Marciac Jazz Festival in France. She has shared a billing with the Count Basie Orchestra at Jazz Aspen in Colorado. She accepted an extended engagement at "The Palace" Hotel in Istanbul, Turkey and upon her return became the regular-featured performer at Harrah's Casino in New Orleans. Recognized internationally, the Sud Quest French publication calls her "unbelievably superb". The Washingtonian Magazine, in a two-page spread, labeled her "JAZZHOT"  In addition to these accolades Ms. Jordan was awarded 1st prize in "The Billie Holliday Competition" and 2nd prize in the D.C. Hennessey Jazz Competition.  Recently, Ms. Jordan has appeared with the New Orleans Ladies of Jazz and at Adagio's Jazz Club in Savannah, GA. She has collaborated with her sister, Rachel Jordan, in a fully staged concert with strings from the Louisiana  Philharmonic and her Jazz Quintet entitled "Stephanie with Strings". A version of this performance featuring her brother, Flautist, Kent Jordan, was repeated with the Alabama Symphony. Ms. Jordan is the fifth performer to emerge from a family of New Orleans bred musicians. As the daughter of saxophonist Edward "Kidd" Jordan, Stephanie's musical roots run deep. Siblings include flautist, Kent Jordan, trumpeter Marlon Jordan, and violinist Rachel Jordan.
